It fully downloads the OS every time, but after it's downloaded the calculator brings up the error message and must be shut off by pressing any button, and then it gets stuck in a loop of waiting for OS to install before the error message pops up again. The difference is that I followed the steps that OP said fixed it, and nothing happens. I recently bought a brand new TI-84 Plus calculator off of Amazon, and within 20 minutes I tried to install the OS from the TI DeviceExplorer and it's already bricked itself in the same way OP mentioned. I know this thread is old, and I'm probably going to have to make a new one if no one can answer soon, but I'm having a very similar problem. If it doesn't work, you can take the battery out, hold and put it back in to accept the OS from the I/O port as well. ![]()
